Volunteer: College Age Ministry - Box Building

Welcome College Age Ministry to The CAPK Food Bank! We are so excited to host y'all for a fruitful morning of box building, and we are beyond grateful for your eagerness to help us feed our neighbors.

To make this an eggsellent experience, please see below for some helpful things to know before you arrive!

Sign-ups! We encourage everyone to sign up for the event ahead of time to make your check-in process easy peasy lemon squeezy! We will email a step-by-step sign-up guide to your event organizer(s) to send out to y'all in case you get stuck, and if you need extra support, please contact Ashley Padron at apadron@capk.org

What to Wear? Closed toed, non-slip shoes are required! Just please no UGGS or CROCS as they pose as a slip/trip hazard and we want to make sure everyone stays safe while on site.

Got Gloves? Bring'em! Folks tend to find these helpful when breaking down cardboard and sorting through product.

Where to meet? You can find us at 1807 Feliz Drive, but we encourage you to use our directions below to better find the front of our warehouse. Google and Apple maps tends to send folks on a little side quest to the back of our warehouse or to another part of the neighborhood all together.

Please note that if you do end up at the back of our warehouse you'll need to go around to the front as the back gate is only available for our delivery trucks to enter through.

1. Take Exit 24 to merge onto CA-58 toward Mojave

2. Take Exit 113 for Martin Luther King Blvd South

3. Take the second left onto E. Belle Terrace

4. Continue to the end of E. Belle Terrace and follow the curve to the left

5. The Food Bank will be on the right-hand side of the road - WooWhoo! You have arrived!

We'll also share a map with your event organizer to help make finding us as smooth as butter!

Thank you again for choosing to volunteer with us here The CAPK Food Bank. We serve 2 million pounds of food each and every month, and that wouldn't be possible without the help of each and every one of you.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Ashley - and we'll make sure y'all will have everything you need to succeed!

Hello! Thank you for your interest in volunteering at CAPK Food Bank. This opportunity is available for anyone who would like to help support us and our neighbors who come in to shop at our Choice Pantry. We are looking for kind individuals who would be able to help serve our neighbors with dignity and respect. If you're bilingual that would help a lot in this role, though it's not required.

Where to meet? You can find us at 1807 Feliz Drive, located behind The American Job Center, but we encourage you to use our directions below to better find the front of our warehouse.

"If there's food for one, there's food for two."

Volunteer: Senior Food Box Distribution

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at The Food Bank!

This opportunity is for volunteers who are interested in helping us distribute our senior food boxes onFriday morning from 8:00a - 10:00a.

The CAPK Senior Food Program provides low-income seniors with a 30-lb box of healthy food items such as milk, cereal, protein, fruits, and vegetables each month. CAPK distributes approximately 5,800 food boxes to seniors over the age of 60 every month.

If you would like to support please know that this will be a drive up distribution and you will help with various tasks such as passing out boxes, collecting demographic information, or passing out extra food and water if available.

What to Wear? It can be a little chilly in the morning, so layers are encouraged, though folks do start getting toasty once we get moving.

You can find us at 1807 Feliz Drive, which is right behind The American Job Center. We encourage you to use our directions below to better find the front of our warehouse. Google and Apple maps tends to send folks on a little side quest to the back of our warehouse or to another part of the neighborhood all together.
