Thank you for your interest in supporting our Food Bank Operation's Team! This opportunity will be for those who aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and help keep our vans, trucks, and resusable micro bins clean. When you arrive, please check in at the tablet in the front office, then ask the front desk staff to contact Rex or Shinell, and they will get you started with your assignments.
What to Wear? Closed toed, non-slip shoes are required! Just please no UGGS or CROCS as they pose as a slip/trip hazard and we want to make sure everyone stays safe while on site. If it's 80 degrees or warmer please feel free to wear knee-high length shorts!
Got Gloves? Bring'em! Folks tend to find these helpful when working
Where to meet? You can find us at 1807 Feliz Drive, but we encourage you to use our directions below to better find the front of our warehouse. Google and Apple maps tends to send folks on a little side quest to the back of our warehouse or to another part of the neighborhood all together.
Please note that if you do end up at the back of our warehouse, you'll need to go around to the front, as the back gate is only available for our delivery trucks.
1. Take Exit 24 to merge onto CA-58 toward Mojave
2. Take Exit 113 for Martin Luther King Blvd South
3. Take the second left onto E. Belle Terrace
4. Continue to the end of E. Belle Terrace and follow the curve to the left
5. The Food Bank will be on the right-hand side of the road - WooWhoo! You have arrived!
Thank you again for choosing to volunteer with us here The CAPK Food Bank. We serve 2 million pounds of food each and every month, and that wouldn't be possible without the help of each and every one of you.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Rex or our volunteer coordinator, Ashley at apadron@capk.org - and we'll make sure y'all will have everything you need to succeed!
