Who We Are
The CAPK Food Bank is the central hub of Kern County's fight against hunger. As a program of the Community Action Partnership of Kern, it serves as partner distribution organization within the Feeding America network, providing food assistance to thousands of residents through a vast network of over 150 partner agencies and food pantries. What We Do
The CAPK Food Bank increases access to healthy, affordable food through:
- Emergency Food Distribution: Over 200 access points across Kern County
- Senior Nutrition: Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) for adults 60 plus years of age
- Child Hungar Relief: Backpack Buddies, Snack Attack, and Free Farmers Markets
- Pantry & EFAPEFAP Programs: Government and community donated food at over 155 sites
- Volunteer & Donation Drives: Mobilizing local organizations and individuals to support food security
The Food Bank continues to expand its reach to meet urgent community needs and fight against food insecurity.
