Welcome neighbors and do-gooders looking to help us fight food insecurity one donation at a time! Join Community Action Partnership of Kern (CAPK) at the Kern County Fair for our annual Feed the Need food drive.
As a Gate Volunteer, you'll help welcome fairgoers, encourage participation in our food drive, collect non-perishable food donations, and thank donors for supporting our mission. Your enthusiasm and friendly attitude will help create a positive experience while making a meaningful impact for local families experiencing food insecurity.
Kindly Note: All volunteers will check in at the Main Gate before being directed to their assigned volunteer station.

***Map attached for your reference - Everyone will meet at the Gold Star listed on the map at the South P Street entrance to get checked in for their shift***
Volunteer Shifts Available:
4:00 p.m – 6:00 p.m.
6:00 p.m – 8:00 p.m.
8:00 p.m – 10:00 p.m.
What to Wear:
This opportunity takes place outdoors. Please dress comfortably for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes, and bring sunscreen or a hat if desired. Late September in Bakersfield can still be very warm, so we encourage volunteers to stay hydrated. Water and light snacks will be provided throughout your shift. If you would like a meal, please plan to bring your own.
